Bay State, Inc. has recently won two awards under the 8(a) STARS II program through the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA).

Bowie, MD - August 10, 2011 - 8(a) STARS II is a five-year, $10 billion program prequalifying and selecting firms who meet stringent criteria including competitive pricing, technical proficiency, and industry credentials. The program is designed to deliver a streamlined acquisition process for Federal agencies seeking information technology (IT) equipment or services.  The program consists of two tiers, known as constellations, each with four functional areas across computer programming, systems design, facilities management and other computer-related services.

This award is a $10 billion, 10 year government wide IT contract that is designed to promote 8(a) socioeconomic business utilization while purchasing information technology (IT) services or IT service-based solutions for the Federal government.

Bay State was awarded two contracts; under Constellation I and II as part of the BStars|Bay State Joint Venture.


Bay State is pleased to announce the award of a Prime Contract under the NAVSEA SeaPort-e program.

Bowie, MD - June 2011 - SeaPort-Enhanced (SeaPort-e) is a multiple-award contract, valued up to $50B that provides the Navy with an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract to acquire Bay State services. The following organizations may utilize SeaPort-e: Naval Sea Systems Command, the Naval Air Systems Command, the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, the Naval Supply Systems Command, the Military Sealift Command, the Naval Facilities Engineering Command, the Strategic Systems Programs, the Office of Naval Research, the Defense Threat Reduction Agency and the United States Marine Corps.


Bay State CEO receives Washington SmartCEO 2011 Brava! Women Business Achievement Award!

Bowie, MD – June 1, 2011 – Washington SmartCEO magazine, announced today the 2011 Washington Brava! Women Business Achievement Award winners. Celebrating its fifth year, the Brava! Hill receives the 2011 Brava! Women Business Achievement Award. The Annual Brava! LEADERSHIP MARYLAND SELECTS PATRICIA P. HILL FOR CLASS OF 2011

ANNAPOLIS, MD – Patricia P. Hill, CEO, Bay State Computers, Inc. in Bowie, and a resident of Davidsonville, has been selected for the Leadership Maryland Class of 2011. Founded in 1992, Leadership Maryland is an independent, educational, non-profit organization designed to inform top-level executives from the public and private sectors about the critical issues, challenges and opportunities facing the state of Maryland and its regions. Hill is one of 52 accomplished and talented statewide leaders selected to participate in the eight-month program.


New Certifications

Bay State has achieve three additional corporate certifications:

WOSB –The Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) Federal Contract program authorizes contracting officers to set aside certain federal contracts.

SWaM - The SWaM (Small Woman and Minority) Owned certification program is administered by the Virginia Department of Minority Business Enterprise ("DMBE") and is the Commonwealth of Virginia's effort to help small, women- and minority-owned businesses with doing business with state government entities

March 2011 — Bay State has broadened its Community Outreach Program to include a community service partnership with a local Prince George's County school, the Barack Obama Elementary School. This partnership supports educators and area school children with educational assistance and opportunities for knowledge transfer as it relates to technology. Bay State has provided community support by donation of school and student supplies and by participating as judges in their Science Fair. Future community services include tutoring and Technology Education support.

Bay State Recognized on Black Enterprise 100 List

June 2010 — Bay State, Inc. Recognized by Black Enterprise Magazine as 98th Nation’s Largest Black-Owned Industrial/Service Company in America for 2010. Bay State, Inc. is recognized in the June 2010 issue of Black Enterprise Magazine as the 98th largest Black-Owned Industrial/Service Company in America. This is Bay State’s first time on the annual Black Enterprise 100 list.


Defense Logistics Agency (DLA)

January 2011 — Bay State was awarded a contract to provide software lifecycle assessments services to the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA).


Department of Energy

January 2011 — Bay State was awarded prime contract for Department of Energy, Bechtel.
