Bay State was awarded the Hardware
and Associated Equipment and Services contract
from the State of Maryland. Bay State will
provide Hardware and Associated Equipment and
Services, Training and Installation and/or Manufacturer’s
Extended Warranty in the following functional
areas: Microcomputers, PCs, Servers, and Associated
Peripherals; Printer and Associated Peripherals;
Network Communications Equipment; Installation
and Training Services; Manufacturer’s Extended
Warranty. The contract period is October
01, 2007 through September 30, 2012. |

Bay State announced
award of the Phase II Certification and Accreditation
(C&A) contract by the USDA Forest Service.
Bay State will work as a subcontractor to SEIDCON,
Inc. to provide the following Information Assurance
services: Conduct a Security Test and Evaluation,
Execute the Test Plan, Create the ST&E report
and Recommend Countermeasures, Update the Risk
Assessment, Update the System Security Plan, Interagency
Service Agreement and Privacy Impact Assessment,
and Document Certification Findings. |

State awarded EDS USGS Preferred Supplier Program
Contract
Bay State was selected by EDS
to be one of its preferred suppliers in the United
States Government Services (USGS) program.
Selection criteria included capabilities, competence,
competitiveness, pricing, provider capability
or demonstrated ability to fulfill current and
future requirements, partnership value, relevant
site visits, and quality of proposal and presentation
of solution. The objectives of the
USGS IT Services Category Team are to redefine
the sourcing process, reduce total costs over
the life of the agreement, eliminate inefficiencies
and expedite business transactions, improve working
capital, continuously improve delivery quality
and service levels, and implement industry best
practices and technology enhancements. Bay
State is pleased to have met these criteria that
EDS set as they looked to partner with the “best
of the best” on this opportunity. |

Bay
State is recommended for continued ISO certification
Following the full system audit
performed by Intertek in late March, Bay State
was advised that its Management System continues
to comply with the requirements of the stipulated
standard. Bay State was commended for its
dedication to the maintenance of the Management
System. Bay State will remain eligible
for ISO certification for another three years.
Congratulations to Rachel Brelsford, ISO Coordinator,
and the corporate team for a job very well done.

State Receives 2006 Top Reseller Award from Telelogic
On March 16, Patricia Hill,
CEO, Andrew Acton, Vice President, and Jennifer
Perrin, Account Executive, were present to receive
Telelogic’s 2006 Top Reseller Award. The
award was presented by Frank Araby at the Mid-Atlantic
Local User Group Meeting in Vienna, Virginia.
Bay State has had a strategic and productive partnership
with Telelogic since 2000. |

Raptor
Networks Selects Bay State as a Vendor
Raptor Networks Technology,
Inc. (Raptor Networks) selects Bay State as a
GSA and ECS III vendor. Raptor Networks is redefining
the paradigm of 1 GbE and 10GbE switching as the
first mover in distributed network switching.
While other providers in the high speed Ethernet
switching field are investing in expensive centralized
core switch designs, Raptor Networks is first
to market with an innovative, “distributed
core” switch architecture. This new network
topology achieves ten times or more the speed
of chassis-based environment at less than half
the price. Raptor Networks’ technology has
been validated by blue-chip customers and partners,
including Nortel Government Solutions, CACI, Telindus,
B.V., MIT, the University of Maryland, the Internet2
Initiative, and numerous others. |

Bay State was audited for continuing
compliance on its Human Resource Management in
October 2006. No nonconformities were noted.
Bay State continues to strive for quality performance
in all of its delivery; ISO has helped Bay State
achieve this objective. Bay State will maintain
its certification through April 2007 and is scheduled
for its reassessment audit in mid March 2007.

Bay State announces award
of the IT Infrastructure Support contract by the
Department of Commerce’s CBS Solutions Center
(CSC). Bay State will work as a subcontractor
to MSI Universal, Inc. to assist the CSC in the
implementation of a department-wide financial
information system to support its full range of
financial management related activities. This
new system, the Commerce Business Systems (CBS),
has as its overall goal, the replacement of legacy
administrative and financial systems. |
